About James Moore

James Moore specializes in both guitar and plectrum banjo, embracing a variety of genres and styles including jazz, folk, old-time, bluegrass, rock and more.

A seasoned multi-instrumentalist and performer, James is also a prolific songwriter. His solid musicianship and earnest, heartfelt vocals can be enjoyed in and round Lexington, where he can be heard as a solo artist as well as with his ensembles. A native of Lexington, Kentucky, James discovered his passion for music at a young age, and eagerly took lessons on piano, violin, guitar, also joined the school chorus to sing.

By his teens he was playing and singing in rock ’n roll bands, as well as composing and performing his own music. He continued his musical studies through college, and has been studying and performing music ever since.
